VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. (March 4, 2010) — 20 Group facilitator Dealer Strategic Planning Inc. (DSP) has organized an additional tire retailer 20 Group, which will hold its first meeting March 8-10 in Raleigh, N.C.
Anthony Blackman, owner of Atlantic Tire & Service in Cary, N.C., will host the first meeting, DSP said.
“As soon as I heard that a 20 group was available for tire store owners, I joined up,” Mr. Blackman said in a DSP statement. “While I have a great operation with my three stores, I believe every aspect can be improved with ideas from successful tire store owners who belong to my new 20 group.”
20 Groups comprise independent tire retailers from non-competing markets in the U.S. and Canada and meet regularly to help each other increase bottom-line profits by peer learning, sharing best practices, financial benchmarking and access to industry experts, DSP said.
Each month the dealers receive a detailed financial analysis which helps them track their performance against the group and industry benchmarks. Under DSP's guidance, 20 Groups meet three times a year for 2 1/2 days of business discussions. Financial analysis and guidance is provided by Norman Gaither, a tire industry and automotive aftermarket consultant.
DSP did not identify other members of the new 20 Group.
