MONROE, Mich. (March 3, 2010) — Tenneco Inc. plans to offer consumers mail-in rebates as part of its upcoming Monroe “Brake 4 Gas” promotion.

Motorists purchasing two sets of Monroe-brand Ceramics or Monroe Dynamics replacement brake pads during the April 1 through May 31 promotional period can earn a $30 mail-in rebate from Tenneco. The purchase of one set of Monroe pads qualifies consumers for a $15 mail-in rebate.

“Many consumers are looking for ways to save money on vehicle repairs. Now they can get cash back while enjoying the exceptional stopping power, quiet performance and long life of Monroe brake pads,” said Sheryl Bomia, North American programs manager for Tenneco.

The automotive parts maker said its Monroe Dynamics semi-metallic and Monroe Ceramics ceramic-formula brake pads “combine advanced, original equipment-style friction formulations and a variety of pad design enhancements to help ensure long life and quiet, powerful braking for hundreds of popular applications.”

More information on the “Brake 4 Gas” promotion—and a locator for Monroe brake retailers—is available at the Monroe Web site.

Lake Forest, Ill.-based Tenneco manufactures and markets emission control and ride control products and systems for the automotive OE market and the aftermarket under the Monroe, Walker, Gillet and Clevite Elastomer brand names.
