NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 23, 2010) — Bridgestone Americas Inc. and National Hockey League team Nashville Predators have agreed to rename the Predators' home arena Bridgestone Arena.
Pending Sports Authority approval, the venue's new name will take effect with the March 3 Predators game. The initial term of the agreement is five years with extension options. Financial terms were not disclosed.
In addition to the naming rights agreement, the Predators and Bridgestone announced a five-year extension of their existing marketing partnership.
“We're excited to be in a position to support the city, the Predators and the entire Nashville community through this naming rights partnership,” said Christine Karbowiak, executive vice president, community and corporate relations, for Bridgestone Americas.
“Bridgestone Americas is proud to be a part of Nashville, and this naming rights agreement will let the world know that Nashville is our home,” she said.
The arena, home of the Predators since 1998, opened in December 1996, Bridgestone said.
