WEST DEPTFORD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Dec. 21, 2009) — East Coast wholesaler Albert Tire Co. Inc. has moved its headquarters to West Deptford Township, to a larger facility that gives the distributor improved access to customers in New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Albert Tire, founded in 1919, cut the ribbon Dec. 16 on the 163,560-sq.-ft. facility in a business park close to I-295. The company moved to the new site from a 70,000-sq.-ft. facility in Pennsauken, N.J., where it had been headquartered since the mid-1970s, according to Albert Tire Vice President John Casey.
Primarily a Goodyear and Goodyear brands distributor, Albert Tire will serve 750 customers along the East Coast from this facility. Albert Tire also is a member of SURE Tire.
Capacity at the new warehouse is listed as 200,000 tires, with daily deliveries numbering about 3,000 tires. The Pennsauken location is for sale.
Mr. Casey said the company chose West Deptford over locations in neighboring Pennsylvania because of the highway access it offers as well its being less disruptive for the firm's 65 employees. West Deptford is about 15 miles west of Pennsauken.
Albert Tire also has warehouses in Beltsville, Md., and York, Pa. It also serves customers in Maryland, Washington D.C., and northern Virginia.
