GREENVILLE, S.C. (Oct. 30, 2009) — Michelin North America Inc. said its 2009 Michelin Pro-Am Charity golf tournament raised $110,000 for six charities in Greenville County.
The 20-year tournament, which has raised nearly $2 million over its history, is hosted annually by Greenville-based Michelin for its suppliers from across the country and around the world.
“Michelin remains committed to supporting the Upstate community, an area we have called home for nearly 35 years,” said Herb Johnson, Michelin's director of community relations. “Our suppliers understand and support this commitment, which allows this tournament to support organizations that are making a significant impact on the children and youth in our community.”
The six charities that benefited from the tournament were Clement's Kindness Fund for the Children; Communities in Schools; Hispanic American Women's Association; Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund; Lapsits for Early Literacy; and the Upstate Fatherhood Coalition.
