GREENVILLE, S.C. (Sept. 9, 2009) — Michelin North America Inc. is kicking off the introduction of its Michelin LTX M/S2 tire through a marketing partnership with National Football League Hall of Famer and four-time Super Bowl champion Ronnie Lott.

During the fall NFL football season, Michelin will sponsor Mr. Lott's fantasy football Web site, www.ronnielottfantasyfootball.com, where he will share his expertise with fantasy football players as well as promote Michelin's new tire.

Mr. Lott will have three posts each week that will offer tips and information on NFL players' performance, waiver wire pickups, what to expect in the coming week, a review of the previous week's games, injury updates and Mr. Lott's weekly picks.

The LTX M/S2 is an improvement on its predecessor, the LTX M/S, offering enhanced safety, longevity and fuel efficiency, Michelin said, adding that the LTX M/S2 is the longest lasting tire in its class and gives consumers up to 20,000 more miles than competitive tires. That claim is based on wear test results for P-metric sizes vs. Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684 II and Goodyear Fortera TripleTred tires, according to the Greenville-based tire maker. The new LTX M/S2 stops seven feet shorter than the competition—based on wet braking test results for LT-metric sizes vs. the Bridgestone Dueler H/T 684 II and Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor tires—according to Michelin.

Mr. Lott's NFL career as a cornerback, free safety and strong safety included stints with the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Raiders, New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs. He retired in 1995 and was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame five years later.
