GREENVILLE, S.C. (May 12, 2009) — Colony Tire Corp. of Edenton, N.C., is switching to the Michelin Retread Technologies (MRT) network from Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions at the end of May.
Colony Tire, which had been a Bandag franchisee for only three years after switching from Goodyear, operates one retread facility and 20 commercial locations. The dealership operates 41 stores total in North Carolina and Virginia.
The addition of Colony Tire will give Michelin North America Inc.'s MRT 46 franchisees serving the North American market.
“Michelin is pleased to have such an excellent retread provider and industry-leading dealer like Colony Tire join our expanding network of MRT franchises,” said Tom Brennan, MRT vice president and director.
Mr. Brennan added that demand for MRT products—including its Michelin X One wide-based retreads—is increasing and that Colony Tire will help meet demand.
“At Colony Tire, our primary objective is to exceed our customer´s expectations for products and service,” said Charlie Creighton, the dealership's CEO. “MRT's process and product offering are a perfect match for that objective. Our customers demand high-quality retreads, and MRT enables us to provide those products, which support our customers' long-term growth and prosperity.”
