JUNO BEACH, Fla. (April 22, 2009) — TBC Corp. recently opened its 730th company-owned retail location, a new National Tire & Battery (NTB) automotive service center in Sterling, Va.
The outlet, which opened this month at 47064 Harry Byrd Highway in Sterling, features 14 service bays and, TBC said, is equipped to provide a host of automotive maintenance services overseen by store manager John Mason. The location will employ as many as 15, including customer service personnel, tire installers, technicians, general service staff and mechanics.
“The latest store opening complements our strategic growth opportunities, which allows us to be competitive and provide the community with quality products and services at affordable prices,” said Orland Wolford, CEO of TBC's retail unit in a TBC statement. “Our team is excited to meet the automotive needs of this community.”
The Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.-based company, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corp. of America since 2005, operates 730 stores in 31 states. TBC said it has opened eight new locations and relocated three stores since January. Its retail division includes Tire Kingdom Inc., NTB, Merchant's Tire and Auto Centers and Big O Tires Inc., which has more than 470 franchise Big O retailers.
