CHICAGO (Feb. 10, 2009) — Bridgestone Americas will display the National Hockey League's Stanley Cup at its exhibit booth during the First Look for Charity event Feb. 12 at the Chicago Auto Show.
The show runs Feb. 13-22 at Chicago's McCormick Place.
First Look guests will have an opportunity to have a photo taken with the Stanley Cup, the oldest professional sports trophy in North America.
The trophy is awarded annually to the NHL playoffs champion, and unlike other professional trophies awarded, it is passed on to each new championship team. It is engraved with the names of the winning players, coaches, management and club staff. The Stanley Cup dates back to 1892 when it was awarded to Canada's top-ranking amateur ice hockey club.
