DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (Dec. 8, 2008) — The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) has made its 2009 SEMA Scholarship applications available for download at www.sema.org/scholarships.
The scholarship program, directed at full-time students in the U.S. and Canada pursuing a career in the automotive industry, includes four-year, two-year, graduate, loan forgiveness and member/dependent awards. Scholarship recipients will be chosen by SEMA judges and the Diamond Bar-based association's scholarship committee.
To qualify, applicants must provide proof they are in an automotive field of study, must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and have 25 minimum credits for two-year scholarships or 50 minimum credits for four-year scholarships. Applicants also will need to provide SEMA with two letters of recommendation, an essay and an official transcript, all which have to be faxed separately.
Additional information, including complete contact information, education history and work history also should be included in the application. The deadline to apply is April 1.
