LAS VEGASHunter Engineering Co. has launched its Auto34 leverless tire changer.
The unit includes a leverless tool head, allowing for operation that prevents technicians from straining to pull tough beads over the rim and reduces the likelihood of rim and bead damage.
An ultra-thin floating tool head inserts itself between the tire and wheel and easily pulls the bead over the rim or demounts the tire in one motion. Automatic mount/demount rollers indent to follow the rim profile as they roll the tire bead from the rim.
The Auto34 operates using three switches and one foot pedal that control almost all tire changing operations, but manual controls also can be used.
Other features include a single diameter control arm for adjusting the tool head and rollers, adjustable clamping heights, an inflation gauge and a motor that exerts more than 850 foot-pounds of torque, Hunter said.
