MIAMI (Nov. 10, 2008) — South Dade Automotive Inc. (SDA) has added 40,000 square feet of space to its Miami warehouse in order to accommodate the firm's growing Florida business.
The Miami-based wholesaler said the expansion brings the size of the facility to 100,000 square feet, which also will help to accommodate the addition of the Good¬year brand and Good¬year associate brands to SDA's distribution network.
In March, the company began selling Goodyear brands for the first time, adding them to its already extensive lineup of Continental, General, Michelin, BFGoodrich, Uni¬royal, Yokohama, Hankook, Pirelli, Nankang, Sunny, Mastercraft, Falken and Achilles tires.
“What we've been trying to do is position ourselves to be the dominant wholesaler in our market, and I think with the portfolio of brands that we have, we have very strong offerings for the retailer,” said Jorge Pola Jr., SDA vice president and part owner of the company with his father, Jorge Pola Sr.
The company also participates in Good¬year's G3X dealer program along with Continental Tire North America Inc.'s Gold, Michelin North America Inc.'s Alliance and Yokohama Tire Corp.'s Advantage programs. Additionally, SDA is an American Car Care Centers Inc. (ACCC) distributor.
Mr. Pola said each program offers “something unique and different and consequently we can tailor programs to our customer's needs.”
SDA, which operates a second warehouse in Tampa, Fla., has been in business since 1991, selling tires for passenger, light truck, medium truck, industrial and agricultural applications. The company also is heavily involved in selling high-performance tires, Mr. Pola said.
In addition to tires, SDA sells wheels and other aftermarket parts to dealers in south Florida, the Caribbean and Latin America.
