FULLERTON, Calif. (Aug. 6, 2008) — Yokohama Tire Corp. (YTC) has named Josh Barinstein of West Linn, Ore., the grand prize winner of its “EcoTreadsetters” video contest.
Fullerton-based YTC launched the contest for users of its ecotreadsetters.com Web site, which the company established as a “forum for people to come together and share ideas for making 'going green' a part of their daily routines,” said Fred Koplin, YTC director of marketing communications.
Mr. Barinstein has won an all-expense paid trip to Costa Rica for his 60-second video, titled “Helping the Earth—One Step at a Time.” In the video, his sons Nathan and Skyler give tips on protecting the environment.
“I entered the EcoTreadsetters contest because I'm truly passionate about helping the environment,” Mr. Barinstein said in a YTC press release.
The tire maker is the North American manufacturing and marketing branch of Tokyo's Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd.
