NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 25, 2008) — Bridgestone/Firestone (BFS) has introduced the Firestone FD835 on/off-highway radial tire for use in a number of service applications.
The FD835, the first in a new generation of such tires under the Firestone brand, is ideal for use in logging, construction, mining, refuse and oil field service applications, Nashville-based BFS said. The tire features an aggressive tread pattern with angled sipes for wet surface performance and a deep open shoulder to provide traction on soft, off-road surfaces.
A tough rubber compound, split-belt construction and computer-designed grooves all combine to reduce tire damage and enhance tread and casing life, the tire maker said. Four steel belts and a steel casing allow the tire to be retreaded for any axle position, BFS said.
The new tire is available now in size 11R24.5 with an H load rating.
