Next year's annual Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) meeting likely will feature a retreading industry pavilion, pending discussions between the TMC and the Tire Industry Association (TIA).
The TMC, a unit of the American Trucking Associations, has agreed to set aside a portion of the trade show floor for retread suppliers and manufacturers to display products and services as part of a Retread Pavilion, according to TIA, which has invited the Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB) to be part of the pavilion.
The event is scheduled for Feb. 9-13, 2009, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
Bowie-based TIA noted that all aspects of exhibiting, from the cost of the booth space to the electrical and compressed air requirements, are under the complete control of TMC.
The 2009 convention/trade show will be the third at which TIA has cooperated with the TMC, organizing a retread and commercial tire conference that runs parallel to the TMC's conference.
TIA said requests from attendees of the TIA conference for more retread exhibits led the association to explore the possibility of organizing a retreading pavilion.
To get the idea rolling, TIA has been surveying potential exhibitors on their interest, and TRIB has been assisting TIA in the survey process.
