GREENVILLE, S.C. (March 21, 2008)—The South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance (SCMA) has recognized three facilities owned by Michelin North America Inc. for outstanding accomplishments in workplace safety in 2007.
Michelin facilities in Sandy Springs, Starr and Greenville, S.C., received awards during the SCMA Plant Safety Conference on March 19 at the Radisson Hotel in Columbia, S.C.
“Michelin is proud of its long-standing relationship with the SCMA,” said David Griffin, vice president of environment, health and safety for Michelin. “Our employees, managers and safety representatives work together to achieve our exemplary safety record.”
The Greenville plant makes tire molds and is part of Michelin's main passenger tire campus at the Donaldson Center in Greenville County. The Sandy Springs and Starr facilities, located in Anderson County, are partially finished rubber processing plants.
