NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 20, 2008) — Bridgestone/Firestone's (BFS) Greatec wide-base drive and trailer radials have been approved for EPA SmartWay certification of commercial tires.
Tires that earn EPA SmartWay certification must achieve at least 3-percent better fuel economy than the average new tire.
Last summer, four Bridgestone-brand commercial truck tires were approved for EPA-certified SmartWay tractors and trailers: the R287 steer, R280 steer, M720 drive and R195F trailer radials, BFS said.
The Nashville-based tire maker's truck and bus tire group will display its EPA-certified tires in the SmartWay booth—No. 13072 in the new Pavilion—March 27-29 at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky.
