BETHSEDA, Md. (March 7, 2008) — Shrinking margins, information availability and super warranties are some of the topics slated for discussion between shop owners and manufacturers during the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association's (AAIA) Spring Leadership Days, April 9-11 in Bonita Springs, Fla.
The Car Care Professionals Network (CCPN), which represents the interests of independent automotive service and repair businesses, will host a forum between repair shop owner and aftermarket manufacturer members. The forum is a follow-up to a dialogue between the two groups at the recent Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association Vision Conference in February.
“Combine AAIA's more than 1,000 manufacturers that make up the largest percentage of our total membership, with CCPN's 20,000 independent vehicle repair businesses members and you have a powerful synergy that can tackle real issues that will benefit the entire industry,” said AAIA President and CEO Kathleen Schmatz. “This is precisely why AAIA created a place at the aftermarket table for CCPN.”
CCPN said it is planning to increase its role in education, training and networking at Automotive Aftermarket Parts Expo (AAPEX) trade show in November in Las Vegas and also may host regional symposiums for independent repair shops.
