GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Nov. 2, 2007) — RHD Tire Inc., a full service wholesale distributor of tires, has opened a new distribution center in Royal Oak, Mich., its second facility in the state.
The company, which has its headquarters in Grand Rapids, carries Bridgestone, Firestone, Goodyear, Dunlop, Republic, Michelin, BFGoodrich, Uniroyal, Continental, General, Hankook and Pirelli brands. The company said the primary focus of its new location is to supply and service automotive dealerships.
Michael Korte, RHD director and manager of the new RHD-East facility, said the company's “car dealer focus and multi-brand strategies have fueled growth to the point where opening a metro Detroit location was the next logical step. This new warehouse is ideal, and one from which we can better support and serve our expanding metro Detroit customer base.”
RHD, which has supplied dealers in Michigan and northern Indiana for the past 35 years, said Mr. Korte was chosen to lead the new regional endeavor because of his expertise and training in General Motors Corp.'s Goodwrench Tire, Ford Motor Co.'s Around the Wheel and Chrysler L.L.C.'s Mopar T.I.R.E. Works programs.
