Denville, N.J. (Oct. 29, 2007) — Emanuele “Manny” Cicero has been named president of Alliance Tire USA, effective immediately.
Mr. Cicero most recently was president and CEO of Denman Tire Corp., which he left in May, and previously served as president of the Bridgestone/Firestone Off-Road Tire Group. He holds a bachelor's degree from Colgate University and an MBA from Vanderbilt University.
Shaul Nuri will continue to support Alliance Tire USA from Israel and has been nominated as vice president of outsourcing for Alliance worldwide, the company said.
“Manny is a leader and manager who brings customer focus and an intimate understanding of the OTR tire industry to his role with us,” Joseph Anglister, CEO of parent company Alliance Tire Co. (1992) Ltd. in Hadera, Israel, said in a statement. “We are delighted to have Manny on our team in North America, where his experience and business skills will be of great value to us and our customers.
“With the solid foundation of Alliance's presence in the North American market established by Shaul Nuri, I am confident in Manny's ability to excel, and to place Alliance among North America's tire market leaders.”
Mr. Cicero said his new role at Alliance is an exciting opportunity.
“It's a great company with great products and great opportunities for growth in the North American market,” he said. “The company's management team, backed by new capital and new ownership, make it especially exciting.”
Private equity company Warburg Pincus L.L.C., along with Yogesh Mahansaria, former CEO of India-based Balkrishna Tyres, earlier this year completed a deal valued at $150 million to buy majority control of Alliance Tire Co.
Previously a subsidiary of Israeli investment group Fishman Holdings, Alliance generates about $160 million in annual sales of farm and off-the-road tires and has 950 employees.
