MADISON, Ind. (Sept. 24, 2007) — Rotary Lift Consolidated (RLC) has purchased Hanmecson International Inc., a Fort Worth, Texas-based company that makes vehicle lifts in China.
The acquisition, terms of which were not disclosed, gives Rotary Lift a base of operations in Asia for its growing international business, according to President Gary Kennon.
“Our intent is to make RLC the foremost provider of vehicle lifts to customers around the world,” Mr. Kennon said. “Our U.S. operation supports lift users throughout North America, Latin America, Africa and Australia, while our location in Germany handles those in Europe and the Middle East. This purchase gives us a strong presence in Asia.”
Rotary said Hanmecson is the best selling lift brand in China, giving RLC a solid base to meet the expanding customer needs of this rapidly growing market. RLC has used Hanmecson as a contract manufacturer for some lift models and components for several years.
Hanmecson also makes and distributes Direct Lift to the North American residential and enthusiast markets. As such, the Direct Lift product line will supplement RLC's existing Revolution brand of enthusiast/residential lifts to provide options for both price-driven and value-conscious buyers, RLC said.
With the acquisition, Rotary Lift Consolidated now has business operation centers and ISO 9001-certified manufacturing facilities in North America, Europe and Asia. RLC did not say what Hanmecson's sales are or how many employees it has.
Rotary Lift Consolidated is part of Dover Co., a publicly traded company.
