    ARE revamps Web site for 'harmony'

    RANCHO DOMINGUEZ, Calif.-American Racing Equipment Inc. (ARE) has launched a redesigned Web site designed to ``create brand harmony'' among the company's growing list of brands.

    The relaunch of www.americanracing.com is the first of four new Web sites ARE is planning, including separate sites for its Boyd Coddington Wheels, Motegi Racing and Weld Racing brands.

    ``American Racing has changed significantly with the addition of new brands and signature series of wheels,'' said Mike Scharnagl, Internet marketing manager, ``and the new site gives the user a better representation of all the great products American Racing has to offer.''

    The new site features dedicated segments for the Dale Earnhardt Jr. Signature Series, Carroll Shelby Legend Series, ATX, Vintage, Pro Series and American Racing core product line, as well as links to the ARE portfolio-Motegi Racing, Twenty Inches Strong, DropStars, TISm, Boyd Coddington Wheels, Weld Racing and RO_JA.

    Conti, Mercedes-Benz in series

    CHARLOTTE, N.C.-Mercedes-Benz USA L.L.C. has named the ContiSportContact 3 the official tire of ``C-Drive,'' a national ride-and-drive series for Mercedes-Benz's redesigned C-Class sedan, according to Continental Tire North America (CTNA) Inc.

    Participants in the series, which began its nationwide tour in August, drive the vehicles both on city streets and a closed-course route, and some of the events will be held in non-traditional venues such as art galleries, design studios and airport hangars.

    The schedule for the remainder of the tour is:

    * Sept. 29-30 at the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center in Atlanta;

    * Oct. 6-7 at the Collins Building in Miami; and

    * Oct. 13-14 at the Dallas Contemporary in Dallas.
