CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (Sept. 12, 2007) — Plaza Tire Service has opened its 47th retail location with its recent acquisition of Zemp Tire Service in Fulton, Mo.
The Zemp Tire location, purchased Aug. 29, has since been renamed Plaza Tire Service and will continue operating six days a week, Plaza Tire said in a prepared statement.
The company said the Fulton store is its 31st outlet in Missouri and its third new store to open this year. The dealership, based in Cape Girardeau, operates stores in Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky and Arkansas.
Among the brands handled by Plaza Tire are Bridgestone, Yokohama, Firestone, Dayton, Michelin, Continental, Pirelli, Toyo and Dick Cepek, as well as the Ultra and Enkei custom wheel lines—all which will be available in the company's new Fulton location. The dealership also provides brake, battery, shock, strut, oil change, state inspection, tire rotation and balance and wheel alignment services.
Plaza Tire was founded in 1963 by Vernon “Pee Wee” Rhodes, who opened a hand-operated car wash that later expanded into tire sales and service.
