SEBRING, Fla. (March 19, 2007) — Michelin Motorsports got off to a fast start in this year's American LeMans Series (ALMS), claiming victory in all four classes at the season-opening Sebring 12-hour enduro.
Michelin is equipping two-thirds of the ALMS field this year, including the defending champions in all four ALMS classes.
The class winners this year were: Audi Sport in LMP1; Andretti Green Racing Acura ARX-01 in LMP2; Corvette Racing in GT1; and Risi Competizione Ferrari F430 GT in GT2.
Kumho Tire USA Inc. has emerged as Michelin's top competitor, supplying tires to one LMP1 prototype class team and two others in the LMP2 category. Yokohama Tire Corp. also is in the mix, supporting entries in the GT1 and GT2 production-based classes, while one LMP1 team uses Dunlop racing tires.
