LAS VEGAS (Jan. 29, 2007) — Best in the Desert Racing Association has named Maxxis the official tire of the off-road endurance racing series.
The series runs year-long with five events for cars and trucks and six for motorcycles, quads and utility terrain vehicles scheduled this year.
Goodyear previously was the series' official tire, a spokesman for the tire maker said.
“This takes our off-road program and participation to a new level,” said Doug Addis, Maxxis automotive/LT sales manager. “We look forward to working together to continue building awareness for both of us.”
Casey Folks, owner of the Las Vegas-based racing series, cited Maxxis' wide range of tires—comprising tires for motorcycles and four-wheelers in addition to tires for cars and trucks—for the selection.
Competitors are free to choose any tire on which to race. Maxxis will announce its 2007 contingency awards program in the near future, Best in the Desert said.
