WASHINGTON (Jan. 24, 2007) — Tire dealers, independent auto repairers, parts manufacturers and other auto aftermarket industry participants will have a chance to promote important issues to their elected officials at the Aftermarket Legislative Summit, June 12-13 in Washington.
As with the previous summit in 2005 attended by 250 industry representatives, the 2007 summit will allow aftermarket officials to speak to their senators and congressmen, making sure they have the information they need to determine legislative policy for the aftermarket, organizers say.
The meeting will begin June 12 with an afternoon legislative briefing, followed by a congressional reception. June 13 will be devoted to meetings with members of Congress. The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) is the main sponsor of the event, with the Tire Industry Association (TIA) among the 14 co-sponsors.
To register or for more information, visit www.aftermarket.org or contact Alexis Walters at (301)-654-6664 or [email protected] The AAIA urges potential attendees to register by May 1 to assure meetings with elected officials and rooms at the Washington Court Hotel.
