EDMONTON, Alberta (Jan. 18, 2007) — Fountain Tire ended its 50th anniversary year in 2006 by awarding a second $50,000 (Canadian) prize to a customer.
Monique Echols of North Vancouver, British Columbia, in December was named the second winner of Fountain Tire's “Gift of Time” contest. The first winner, Laurence Pole of Balzac, Alberta, won $50,000 in August.
Fountain Tire said the contest was held in two phases, April 1 through July 31 and Aug. 1 through Nov. 30. In both phases, each Fountain Tire location awarded $500 to one customer in gift certificates. Those customers then were entered into the $50,000 prize drawing.
“This prize will allow these customers time to do the things they love,” Fountain Tire said in a statement. “Time to do the things they want. Time to do things for themselves. Time to enjoy life.”
Mr. Pole said he plans to take time off from his farm and travel to Las Vegas, the dealership said. Ms. Echols said she would like to also take time off work and travel with her family.
Fountain Tire operates 140 stores in central and western Canada.
