FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (Dec. 20, 2006) — EnTire Solutions L.L.C. expects to increase its direct tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) presence in North America as the direct TPMS supplier for the 2007 Toyota Sienna.
EnTire Solutions, a joint venture between TRW Automotive Inc. and Michelin North America Inc., launched its first TPMS as standard equipment on the 2004 Acura MDX and currently supplies Honda Motor Co. Ltd., Hyundai Motor Co., Kia Motors Corp. and Fiat S.p.A.
EnTire's TPMS unit uses a battery-powered pressure sensor mounted on the valve stem inside the wheel. The sensor communicates tire pressure and temperature information to a vehicle-mounted receiver via a radio signal. The company offers a basic and an enhanced version of the system.
