ALEDO, Texas-Former TBC Corp. executive Bob M. Hubbard died Nov. 3 in Aledo at age 72.
A native of Cynthiana, Ky., Mr. Hubbard earned a bachelor's degree in business from Eastern Kentucky University. He worked for Dayton Rubber Co. in Dayton, Ohio, for four years before joining Cordovan Associates, later known as TBC Corp., in 1960.
In 1970 Mr. Hubbard was named manager of purchasing and quality control at TBC, and later served as vice president, purchasing and quality assurance and then senior vice president, purchasing and engineering. According to Memphis, Tenn.-based TBC, he was instrumental in the formation of TBC de Mexico and TBC Worldwide in 1995. He was promoted to executive vice president, purchasing and engineering before retiring from TBC in 1998.
Mr. Hubbard is survived by his wife Ann, three sons and several grandchildren.
JUNIPER, Fla.-Henry Fawcett, former chairman and CEO of Mohawk Rubber Co., died Dec. 8 at the age of 87.
A native of Canton, Ohio, he received a bachelor's degree from Colgate College and also graduated from Harvard Business School. At Colgate, he met and later married Mary Ellen Bloch, whose father was R.E. Bloch, at the time president of Mohawk. Mr. Fawcett succeed Mr. Bloch as the firm's president and CEO in 1956.
Mohawk at one time had tire plants in Akron and Salem, Va., but the firm closed the Akron factory in 1978. The company was sold in the early 1980s to Danaher Corp. and then to Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. in 1989.
Mr. Fawcett was preceded in death by his wife. He is survived by daughters Jane Comunale, Julie Deane and Ellen Tobin and friend Ruthie Juve.
GREEN BAY, Wis.-Roger Wochinske, former owner of Pomp's Tire Service Inc., died Dec. 9. He was 86.
Mr. Wochinske owned Pomp's for 25 years, retiring in 1989. According to the firm's Web site, Mr. Wochinske bought the business in 1965 when the original founder, Andrew ``Sparky'' Pomprowitz died.
Mr. Wochinske's son, Jim Wochinske, is president of Pomp's.
Mr. Wochinske is survived by his wife LaVerne, children Jim Wochinske and Jill Callahan, their spouses and grandchildren.
