BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Dec. 4, 2006) — The Automotive Service Association (ASA) will testify Dec. 7 before a hearing of the California Air Resources Board (CARB) opposing proposed changes to current emissions warranty regulations in the state.
As with previous CARB efforts to expand vehicle emissions warranties in California, the ASA is concerned that any such expansion will hurt independent auto repairers by tying vehicles to new vehicle dealers' service departments.
The association also is urging its California members to contact CARB with their objections to the proposal.
