FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (Nov. 8, 2006) — EnTire Solutions L.L.C. is entering the aftermarket with an agreement to distribute its two new aftermarket tire pressure monitoring sensors (TPMS) and valve service kits through Schrader-Bridgeport International Inc.
Altavista, Va.-based Schrader will market and sell EnTire sensors and kits to service wholesalers and dealerships under Schrader's new AirAware brand.
As spokesperson for EnTire, an original equipment TPMS manufacturer, said the company opted to distribute to the aftermarket through Schrader because it already had established distribution channels.
EnTire's sensors and kits will serve as replacement parts for 11 Honda, Acura and Hyundai/Kia vehicles already OE-equipped with EnTire's TPMS systems. The vehicles include the 2005-06 Honda Odyssey, Pilot and Ridgeline; 2007 Honda Element; 2004-06 Acura MDX and 2005-06 Acura RL and TL; 2006 Hyundai Tucson and 2007 Hyundai Tuscani and Sonata; and 2006 Kia Sportage.
OE specifications require that new grommets, nuts, valve cores and caps be installed every time a tire equipped with TPMS is removed and replaced on a wheel rim, according to Schrader.
EnTire Solutions, which has its headquarters in Farmington Hills, is a joint venture between Michelin North America Inc. and TRW Automotive.
