LAS VEGAS (Nov. 2, 2006) — Yokohama Tire Corp. offered either a Lotus Exige or Lotus Elise as the grand prize to Lance Isbell of Friend Tire in Monett, Mo., in Yokohama's “Beat the Odds” giveaway.
The giveaway consisted of a blackjack tournament at Yokohama's booth at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas. About 40 qualified dealers—determined by sales—participated, a Yokohama spokesman said.
Mike Patrick of Tri-State Tire in Atlanta won second prize, $5,000 in casino chips, and Matt Malley of Discount Tire Co. in Scottsdale, Ariz., won third, $1,000 in casino chips.
The top three winners were given keys to a 2007 Lotus Exige S and boxes containing the casino chips. The dealers won the prize that their key opened.
The spokesman said Mr. Isbell has not yet decided which Lotus he prefers.
