ITASCA, Ill. (Oct. 19, 2006) — Midas Inc. has been named an approved vendor of automotive service for Comdata Corp.'s fleet fuel card customers.
Comdata, an issuer of business-to-business fleet fuel and other payment card systems, is a partner in Midas' fleet program. The firms have been working together to establish ways for Comdata fleet fuel card users to have their vehicles serviced at Midas, the companies said.
“Supporting Comdata's relationships with some of its accounts such as the State of Florida is an important venture for Midas because it enables us to leverage our vendor partnerships,” said Alan Feldman, Midas chairman and CEO.
Midas introduced its fleet service program last April to its franchisees, who were asked to sign fleet agreements committing them to service standards, service offerings and pricing. Franchisees operating more than 90 percent of the U.S. shops have signed the agreements, Midas said.
Midas plans to establish a similar fleet program for about 200 Midas shops in Canada in early 2007.
Midas oversees about 1,800 franchised, licenses and company-owned shops in the U.S. and Canada.
