BETHESDA, Md. (Oct. 11, 2006) — The Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) is asking the aftermarket industry for donations to the GAAS Scholarship Fund.
GAAS has created pins that state, “Our Future Runs on GAAS Scholarships,” and is asking industry members to buy them for a minimum $20 donation each. Pins will be available at several locations at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo Oct. 31-Nov. 2 in Las Vegas during Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week events, which include the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.
Donations may also be sent to the GAAS Scholarship Fund, c/o Susan Medick, 7101 Wisconsin Ave., Suite 1300, Bethesda MD 20814.
In 2006, GAAS awarded a record 159 scholarships of $1,000 each to aspiring young automotive aftermarket professionals, and has given approximately 1,500 scholarships worth about $1.1 million total since 1996.
