AKRON (Oct. 4, 2006) — DaimlerChrysler Corp.'s Jeep brand has selected two Firestone tires as standard equipment and a Goodyear all-terrain tire as optional equipment on its 2007 Jeep Compass compact sport-utility vehicle.
The five-passenger Compass is Jeep's first front-wheel-drive product, although Jeep also offers a four-wheel-drive version.
Jeep is using the Firestone Affinity S2 all-season touring tire, size P215/65R17, as the standard tire on the two-liter, four-cylinder base and offers the Goodyear Wrangler SR-A all-terrain tire in size P215/65R17 as an optional original fitment.
The 2.4-liter, 172-horsepower Compass Limited is fitted with the Firestone Firehawk GTA 03 all-season performance tire in size P215/55R18, Jeep said.
The four-door Compass combines the packaging and functionality of an SUV with the performance, handling, fuel economy and price of a compact car or small pickup, Goodyear said.
The Wrangler SR-A is an all-terrain tire with an on-highway quiet ride, Goodyear said.
