7 dealers sign up for software
EVANSVILLE, Ind.-Software provider MaddenCo Inc. said seven tire dealers have signed up to use the firm's Internet-based ASP tire dealer software.
Cross-Dillon Tire Inc. of Lincoln, Neb., C&M Tire Inc. of Kansas City, Kan., Froesel Tire Service Co. of St. Louis, Forestry Tire Center of Montgomery, Ala., Hogan Tire Inc. of Houlton, Maine, Gateway Truck Plaza in East St. Louis, Ill., and Fanmark Tire & Auto Service in Port Clinton, Ohio, are using the software, MaddenCo said.
ASP is designed to give dealers a managed software system without needing an on-site server, MaddenCo said.
TRIB CD offers retread plant tour
PACIFIC GROVE, Calif.-The Tire Retread Information Bureau (TRIB) is offering a new CD featuring a retread plant tour.
The disk, said TRIB Managing Director Harvey Brodsky, is available to all truckers and others who would like to see how truck tires are retreaded in a modern, state-of-the-art, ISO-certified precure retread plant. The tour highlights all the steps in the tire retreading process, from the initial inspection through final inspection.

Goodyear inks truck fleet deal
AKRON-Goodyear has inked a supply agreement with Interstate Brands Corp. to provide commercial tires for up to 10,000 fleet vehicles.
Under the pact, Goodyear will supply replacement truck tires and tire services in North America for Interstate Brands, marketer of Hostess, Dolly Madison, Wonder, Home Pride and other brands of baked goods.
``Working with Interstate Brands is a great opportunity for us to gain new business,'' said Steve McClellan, Goodyear's vice president of commercial tire systems. ``Our ability to offer a comprehensive service package of original equipment, replacement and retread tires as well as value-added services is key to this new agreement.''
