DUNCAN, S.C. (Sept. 5, 2006) — Tire Centers L.L.C. (TCI) has opened six distribution centers so far this year, expanding the reach of its T3 independent dealer marketing program to the major metropolitan areas of Los Angeles; Detroit; Indianapolis; Nashville, Tenn.; Pensacola, Fla.; and Mobile, Ala.
In addition to expanding geographically, TCI said it has added a number of services to its T3 package, including a custom wheel program with Wheel Pros Inc. and a T3 Tire Dealers Insurance Program through Federated Insurance Co. that offers property coverage, business interruption, crime coverage, general liability, health plans, life insurance and retirement plans.
“The expansion into these new markets will significantly increase the overall number of T3 dealers in the U.S. market,” said Dave Snyder, vice president of TCI's distribution division. TCI has grown this year by 23 dealer outlets to more than 550, he added.
“The program continues to be well accepted because there is a need for it,” he said. “That's why we are taking it into new markets and developing new features in the program.”
The new warehouses give TCI 38 distribution centers in more than 20 states.
The new program with Denver-based Wheel Pros offers dealers custom wheels from top manufacturers featuring classic to exotic aluminum- and steel-design wheels in sizes from 14 to 26 inches with numerous exclusive lines. The program is complete with warranties, support, ordering and delivery, wheel displays, promotional assistance and a full-credit return policy, TCI said.
TCI, a subsidiary of Michelin North America Inc., also has expanded its T3 national road hazard warranty on Michelin, Harmony and Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring lines.
T3 stands for the “T” in TCI plus the three attributes of Selection, Value and Service, according to the company, which started in 2001 with approximately 100 dealers.
