NORTH FORT COLLINS, Colo. (Aug. 16, 2006) — “Successful dealers” will again “share their secrets” at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA)/Tire Industry Association (TIA) trade show in Las Vegas this fall.
Two panel discussions—each featuring seven tire dealers—will be held from 2-3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31 and Wednesday, Nov. 1 in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Hosts will be former Big O Tires Inc. executive Ron Lautzenheiser, who operates two Big O franchise stores in Colorado, and TIA Treasurer Tom Wright of Wright Tire Service in Anoka, Minn. Don Olson, who has hosted the dealer panels in recent years, also will participate.
Dealer participants are from a wide swathe of the country, from the northwest to the southeast, according to Mr. Lautzenheiser, and represent dealerships both large and small doing business in all facets of the industry, including passenger and light truck to commercial, wholesale and retreading.
Six of the seven dealers scheduled to participate in Tuesday's panel are: Dennis Richard Jr., Twin Tire & Auto Care, Harvey, La.; Mitch Bernaek, Big O Tire, Fort Collins, Colo.; Ken Brown, Allen Brown Tire Center/Les Schwab, Newport, Ore.; Dave Church, Ken Towery's Tire Centers, Louisville, Ky.; Stu Zurcher, Transwheel Corp., Huntington, Ind.; and Terry Sheahan, Goss Tire Co., Burlington, Vt.
Wednesday's panelists will be: Charley Gowland, Chabill's Tire Service, Morgan City, La.; Dan Hennley, Tire Choice & Total Care Care, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla; Fran Boyd, Thompson Tire Co., Christianburg, Va.; Steve Disney, Raben Tire, Evansville, Ind.; Bruce Cherry, Big O Tire, Dublin, Calif.; Don Hyman, Hyman Tire Servcie L.L.C., Bolivar, Tenn.; and John Marshall, Grismer Tire Co., Dayton, Ohio.
