CARLSBAD, Calif. (June 22, 2006) — Riding on the heels of its 30th year of participation in off-road motorsports activities and recent 20th consecutive win in the Baja 1000, Michelin North America Inc.'s BFGoodrich brand has expanded by a dozen sizes its All-Terrain T/A KO tire lineup.
The BFG All-Terrain T/A light truck line now features 49 sizes ranging from 215/75R15 to 325/60R22. Its fitments cover many of the most popular sport-utility vehicles and trucks, Michelin said during a ride-and-drive event this week for journalists and almost 40 of its dealers from across the country.
During a presentation, Gary D. Enterline, brand category manager, said the BFG light truck tire product line cuts through a swath of offerings, from extreme off-road to consumer, focusing on the especially popular pick-up truck segment. While tire dealers will continue to see a majority of sales in light truck sizes 16 inches and smaller, Mr. Enterline said, he predicted the growing popularity of sizes 17 inches and larger “is where the sales and profits will be” in coming years.
The new All-Terrain T/A KO sizes—dubbed the “Dirty Dozen” by Mr. Enterline—will be available Sept. 1. They will include three 17-inch, five 18-inch, two 20-inch and two 22-inch tires.
