Eric Luecke said he was lucky the Mercedes-Benz CLK500 he piloted was equipped with an in-dash navigation system, a CB radio and a DVD player-all of which he used to entertain himself during One Lap of America.
It was nice to pop in a funny movie in the wee-hours of the night, he said. While the CB radio made for fun banter with truckers, it was actually the navigation system that got him into trouble.
``Ursula''-the nickname Mr. Luecke and his teammates gave to the navigation system's female voice-did lead him astray. At about 2 a.m. one morning while traveling through Arkansas, he did a U-turn while following her directions. Mr. Luecke was pulled over by police, who let him off without a ticket.
They were seemingly more interested in checking out the commodities of the CLK500, he said.
