Hankook Tire America Corp. has boosted its contingency support of grassroots motorsports in the U.S. this year about 11 percent to $3 million.
For 2006, Hankook has expanded the number of racing series for which it will offer contingencies to 16, including BMW and Porsche car club events.
Hankook considers motorsports ``increasingly important'' to its efforts to build brand image in North America, according to Marketing Director Bill Bainbridge, who described Hankook's contingency program as ``one of the largest and best in grassroots racing.''
Among the racing series Hankook supports are: Sports Car Club of America-Nationals, Regionals, ProSolo and Solo Nationals; International Conference of Sports Car Clubs; Rally America National Championship; U.S. Rally Championship; East Coast Rally Championship; National Auto Sport Association California Rally Series; Rally America Regional Championship; Western States Rally Championship Series; BMW Car Club of America; Porsche Club of America; Porsche Owners Club; and the newly created United States Endurance Racing Association.
Contingency forms, waivers and applications can be found at Hankook's Web site: www.hankooktireusa.com.
The tire maker has no program for Canada.
