BEAUMONT, Texas-Jack Baxter, founder of Jack's Tire Service in Beaumont, died April 26. He was 87.
Mr. Baxter served in World War II in both the European and Pacific theaters, according to his obituary. He also was a longtime member of the Sabine Tabernacle church, where he served as an elder and finance committee member.
``Jack Baxter will be long remembered and deeply missed by his family, as well as those that had the privilege of knowing him,'' his family wrote.
Mr. Baxter is survived by his wife Lilah Jean; daughter Shirley Ann Threet; son Jackie Lynn Baxter; three sisters; one brother; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
