WAYNE, N.J. (May 19, 2006) — Ford Motor Co. has selected the Hankook Optimo H725 All-Season touring tires as original equipment (OE) on the Ford Focus beginning with June 2006 vehicle production.
The Focus will be fitted with size P195/60R15T tires, according to Hankook Tire America Corp., which said the Optimo H725 is specially designed for small passenger cars.
“This new Ford Focus application for our tires is another major step forward in growing our brand position here in the U.S.,” said Bill Bainbridge, Hankook marketing director. “As more and more OE vehicle manufacturers select our brand with confidence, that will translate to driving more consumers to look for the Hankook brand when choosing replacement tires.”
Hankook also supplies Ford in the U.S. with OE fitments to the F-150 pickup truck and Econoline E-250 and E-350 full-size vans. Globally, Hankook Tire Co. Ltd. supplies tires to Ford and Ford's Volvo unit, General Motors Corp., Hyundai Motor Co., Volkswagen A.G., Kia Motors Corp., and Mitsubishi Motors Corp.
