GROVEPORT, Ohio (May 15, 2006) — Yokohama Tire Corp. will host a grand opening event Wednesday, May 17 for its new distribution center in Groveport.
The 750,000-sq.-ft. facility is the largest spec building in the Opus Business Center near Columbus, Ohio, Yokohama said. The tire maker will occupy 651,284 square feet of the building. The grand opening will include a tree-planting ceremony as well as a Japanese barrel-breaking ceremony for the beginning of a new business endeavor.
Participants will include Norio Karashima, president and CEO of Yokohama Tire Corp.; Shinichi Suzuki, executive vice president, manufacturing and technology plant manager; Jim McMaster, business division executive vice president; Takahara Fushimi, vice president of operations/CFO; Jim Quinn, director of operations; and Groveport Mayor Lance Westcamp.
