GREENVILLE, S.C. (May 9, 2006) — Michelin North America Inc.'s Greenville plant celebrated production of the 200 millionth tire at the facility after 31 years of operation.
The tire was a Michelin Pilot HX MXM4, size P225/50R17.
“It's an incredible milestone that shows Michelin's commitment to North American manufacturing and to this community,” said Clarence Kegler, plant manager in Greenville. “Achievements like this come as the result of hard work day-in and day-out by dedicated employees who are committed to building the best tires on the road.”
The Greenville plant produces original equipment and replacement tires for passenger cars and light trucks. The plant employs 1,132 workers.
