The Tire Industry Association (TIA) plans to hold a TIA Commercial Tire and Retreading Conference in 2007 to take the place of its World Tire Expo.
The new conference, slated for Feb. 6-8 in Tampa, Fla., will be held in conjunction with the Technology and Maintenance Council's (TMC) Transportation Technology Exhibition. TIA said the combination will allow attendees to meet both buyers in the trucking industry as well as professionals in the commercial tire and retreading industries.
``With the final World Tire Expo taking place in 2005, we are very excited about the new tradition we will be starting in 2007 with TIA's Commercial Tire and Retreading Conference,'' said Bob Malerba, TIA's president, in a prepared statement.
He went on to say that the Bowie-based trade association is ``committed to providing the commercial and retread industries with an event to educate personnel, exchange ideas and meet with suppliers and manufacturers. By holding our conference in conjunction with TMC's exhibition, both groups will benefit.''
Information on TIA's conference schedule, registration and hotel reservations will be available on the group's Web site, www.tireindustry.org, in the near future. Details on TMC's event are at www.truckline.com.
