NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 30, 2006) — Bridgestone Corp.'s chief financial officer will join Bridgestone Americas Holding Inc. (BSAH) as the subsidiary's vice chairman and CFO, effective June 30.
Shoji Mizuochi, the current CFO of Tokyo-based Bridgestone, will continue to serve as a member of Bridgestone's board of directors.
Akira Nozawa, CFO and executive vice president of BSAH, will be promoted to vice president and chief financial officer, finance, procurement and IT & network, also effective June 30.
“The changes announced today underscore the importance of Bridgestone Americas to the overall business and strategy of Bridgestone Corp.,” said Mark Emkes, BSAH chairman and CEO. “The assignment of Mr. Mizuochi, a very senior level executive, to BSAH reflects the fact that Bridgestone believes its global family of companies must maintain a leadership position in the Americas to be truly successful in the worldwide marketplace.”
Both executives have been with the company for more than 30 years.
