ST. PETERS, Mo. (March 1, 2006) — Sure Tire Co. announced it will carry the recently launched Fierce line of entry-level tuner tires made by Goodyear.
Sure Tire said it will carry the Fierce UHP (ultra-high performance), ST (sport truck) and HP (high performance) line of 30, 29 and 19 sizes, respectively. The company—which announced the decision at its annual shareholder meeting last week—said it will phase out its Essenza line as Fierce tires become available. Fierce tires are currently shipping, and the line is expected to be complete by mid-year.
Goodyear launched the Fierce lineup at its annual dealer meeting in early February. The line, launched under Kelly's auspices but marketed on its own, will replace the Kelly Evo Z, Charger HPT and, in some channels, the Ultra HPR.
“By partnering with Goodyear on this project, Sure will offer an expanded range of sizes targeted at the fastest growing parts of our market, the tuner, high performance and SUV/LT segments,” said Pat McLaughlin, president of St. Peters-based Sure Tire.
Other brands marketed by Sure Tire include Heritage, Max Steel, Remington and Summit.
