WAYNE, N.J. (Feb. 14, 2006) — Hankook Tire America Corp. has boosted its contingency support of grassroots motorsports in the U.S. this year about 11 percent to $3 million.
For 2006 Hankook has expanded the number of racing series for which it will offer contingencies to 16, including BMW and Porsche car club events.
Hankook considers motorsports “increasingly important” to its efforts to build brand image in North America, according to Marketing Director Bill Bainbridge, who described Hankook's contingency program as “one of the largest and best in grassroots racing.”
Among the racing series Hankook supports are: Sports Car Club of America (SCCA)—Nationals, Regionals, ProSolo and Solo Nationals; International Conference of Sports Car Clubs; Rally America National Championship; U.S. Rally Championship; East Coast Rally Championship; National Auto Sport Association California Rally Series; Rally Rally America Regional Championship; Western States Rally Championship Series; BMW Car Club of America; Porsche Club of America; Porsche Owners Club; and the newly created United States Endurance Racing Association.
