Bridgestone Americas unveiled on Feb. 8 six new tires-including a Fuzion light truck/ sport-utility vehicle tire sporting sidewalls embossed with racing flames and a tribal motif-during the 2006 Chicago Auto Show.
BFS, the exclusive tire maker exhibiting at the expansive auto show, introduced to the media Fuzion XTi, the Firestone FR710 premium tire with a 65,000 mile warranty, and the Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport premium LT/SUV tire. The company also presented three
new additions to the Bridgestone Potenza line: Potenza RE-01R and Potenza RE050A Pole Position as ultra-high performance summer tires, and the Potenza RE960AS Pole Position, a UHP all-season tire.
On the public service side, BFS promoted its series of tire maintenance awareness TV and print ads, featuring racing legend Mario Andretti, that will run monthly over the next couple of years. In conjunction with its youth driver education program, BFS launched its Safety Scholars program, which offers students prizes for the best ideas to educate young drivers about tires and driving.
